I, like most people, love traveling. I feel that I’m at my happiest when I’m out exploring the world and finding new favorite spots. In my lifetime I have been fortunate enough to travel to many places in my lifetime and am constantly dreaming about where to go on my next adventure. Sometimes I get bored and feel uninspired when I’m back home. Today I’m sharing one of the ways I have recently combatted this and have found joy in my everyday life!
When I returned from my month in Charleston I felt so inspired and excited by all of the beautiful places I had seen while there. My Instagram feed was bright and colorful and matched my wardrobe perfectly. However, Seattle is not Charleston and has far more brick buildings than colorful ones. Not gonna lie…I felt a little disappointed to come back home and have to spend so much time finding photoshoot spots that captured the feed I envisioned for myself. I reposted Charleston photos for as long as I could, but I received tons of messages from people thinking I actually lived there, so it was time to start posting from Washington.
After a few weeks, I stopped feeling sorry for myself and decided to make the best of where I’m at right now. One of the ways I’ve been doing this has been spending at least one day a week exploring the PNW and going on a little day-trip to a new place. So far I’ve been to Portland/St. Helens Oregon (aka Halloweentown!!), Coupeville (the photos from today’s post), Bainbridge Island, and am headed to Port Angeles this weekend.
If you find yourself feeling uninspired by where you’re currently at, I encourage you to research where you live and explore new places near you. Whether it’s just a new restaurant or a new city – it can be exciting and fun! Personally, I have been looking for towns that are colorful and bright and remind me of Charleston! Coupeville was the perfect town for this. Fun fact…there were deer all over the town! & it was where “Practical Magic” with Sandra Bullock was filmed.
